Way back when, I had a Facebook account and we were landing jobs to create Facebook apps. You may have already known this, but James Cameron is an explorer—the real deal. So he commissioned a deep sea submarine and, doing what James Cameron does, made a film about it. And some time after everyone was sure he was still alive, a firm commissioned us to build a submarine UI for an app. From the steely comfort of your Facebook page, you could embark on a 35,000ft dive to the deepest part of our planet. Well, comfortable so long as no one was poking you. That was still a thing then.

More often than not, you'd die, and see your life flash before your eyes in pictures of your Facebook friends. But then that's the life of the explorer. Only the ones who live tell tales.
